Explore Wine Tourism in France - Avignon Wine School, Tours and Tasting

Wine Tourism in France is a no-brainer, especially in the Rhône Valley. If your starting point is Avignon, many Wine Tours and Experiences are waiting to be discoverd. The Avignon Wine School, offered by Inter-Rhône, the regional wine association, is one of our favorites. Moreover, this institution sets production rules, shares market insights, and supports Rhône Valley wine growers and merchants. Additionally, it promotes AOC Côtes du Rhône wines, as well as neighboring appellations such as Costières de Nîmes, and more.

Furthermore, Inter-Rhône makes efforts to enhance recognition of the region’s wines in European, Asian, and North American markets. They host events, guided Avignon wine tastings, and educational courses, funded by contributions from winemakers and exporters. Moreover, a focus on wine education is predominant, and they offer weekly Saturday workshops and Tuesday happy hours in Avignon, catering to novices and connoisseurs. Each event explores themes related to Côtes du Rhône appellations and offers a tasting workshop.

Generally, events occur every Tuesday and Saturday throughout the year, except in July and August and between Christmas and New Year.

The tastings feature 6 wines.

L’Ecole du Vins can be found in the fromer Banque de France, in the shadows of the Palais du Papes.

The price is €35 per person, and for inquiries or reservations, contact: [email protected].

Finally, the programs are normally in French; however, it has been mentioned that accommodations can be made for larger English-speaking groups.

Start planning your trip to the region with the Avignon Wine School and some tours that are suggested below.
